Our Story…
In 2011 our founder and lead esthetician Maria Crews birthed TruGlam as her brain-child when her then newborn twins were 3 months old. After working for others all of her life, she wanted to be fulfilled in her work-life balance as well as work toward fulfilling others. It was important to Maria for her to serve as a firsthand, tangible example to her children that you can, in fact, follow your dreams and be present.
From the start, makeup artistry was the basis of TruGlam. Maria has worked as a key makeup artist for multiple fashion shows, video and photo shoots as well as serviced countless wedding parties. In 2014 after Maria gained her licensure as an Advanced Esthetician, she chose to learn more techniques and about the business of beauty by working for local salons and spas.
Thankfully, after its initial mobile beginnings, in 2018 TruGlam opened its doors as a beauty studio. Since then, TruGlam has become a second home to many client-friends that choose to practice the art of self-care with us. With connection, compassion and advanced technical knowledge, TruGlam is now a space for all to enjoy many services. These services include full body waxing for both male and female clients, makeup artistry, facials and skincare, spray tanning and lash extensions.
As a makeup artist and esthetician Maria and TruGlam alike have gained national notoriety with their work in many magazines, training programs, fashion shows, commercials and NYFW. It is our continued passion to save space for our client friends to feel equally as comfortable as they are confident once they walk out our doors.
